Ten texts: Saved From Certain Death

 1. Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” https://www.bible.com/bible/1/ROM.3.KJV

2. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  https://www.bible.com/bible/1/ROM.6.KJV

3. Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  https://www.bible.com/bible/1/ROM.5.KJV

4. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”  https://www.bible.com/bible/1/JHN.3.KJV

5. 1 John 4:9 “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”  https://www.bible.com/bible/1/1JN.4.KJV

6. Hebrews 2:9 “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” https://www.bible.com/bible/1/HEB.2.KJV

7. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  https://www.bible.com/bible/1/1JN.1.KJV

8. Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast.” https://www.bible.com/bible/1/EPH.2.KJV

9. James 2:17 “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. https://www.bible.com/bible/1/JAS.2.KJV It is not enough just to sit in church every week, and say, “I believe.” Even the devil believes. Sitting in church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than sitting in a garage makes you a corvette. We don’t do “works” in order to be saved but because we are. If you never did anything to show your spouse that you loved them, would they begin to wonder if you did?

10. Colossians 2:6 “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:” https://www.bible.com/bible/1/COL.2.KJV If we don’t live like Jesus here, what makes us think that we will walk with him in heaven?
