Ten Texts About Not Turning Back

 1. Matthew 12:31 “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.”  https://www.bible.com/bible/1/MAT.12.KJV 

2. John 16:7 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”  https://www.bible.com/bible/1/JHN.16.KJV It is the Holy Spirit’s job to convict us of our sins, to help us repent, and to show us truth. 

3. Proverbs 28:13 “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”  https://www.bible.com/bible/1/PRO.28.KJV When we try to hide our sins, God still sees them.

5. Matthew 13:13 “Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest at any time they should see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And should understand with their heart, And should be converted, and I should heal them.”  https://www.bible.com/bible/1/MAT.13.KJV Back in Jesus day, the Jewish leaders, for the most part, refused to listen and were rejected.

8. 2 Corinthians 6:2 “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, And in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)”  https://www.bible.com/bible/1/2CO.6.KJV If a person keeps ignoring the Holy Spirit, He will go away.

9. Genesis 6:3 “And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” https://www.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.6.KJV When the Holy Spirit goes away because of constant rejection, that person has grieved away the Spirit and committed blasphemy. They will no longer have a sense of right and wrong, and they will no longer care about doing things that are right. When this happens, they are lost.
