comfort in times of trial

Ps. 40: 1-4 & 17. I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.4 Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.  Actually the entire Psalm is a good one.

Ps. 54:4  Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

Ps. 61.1 - 3 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Ps. 73: 23-26 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.s

Ps. 86  Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy.s2 Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.s3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.s4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.6 Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.17 Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

Is. 49: 15 & 16 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Hebrews 13: 5(last part) - 6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Matt. 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Zeph 3:16 & 17  In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.17 The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.s
