I walk my dogs every morning, the same path everyday, but today was different. I had not quite reached the point where I usually turn around when I heard a rustling sound coming from my right. It wasn't the small rustling of a squirrel, no it was bigger than that, so I turned to look expecting to see a deer. I saw nothing, heard nothing, so I took a few more steps. Then the rustling came again except this time when I looked my heart began hammering in my chest for a black bear was climbing out of a tree, maybe 30 feet or so from where my dogs and I stood. I turned around to head back towards home and that's when the dogs began to whine. Without looking around I pulled the dogs and walked back towards the driveway as quickly as I dared, praying all the way. When I got safely home and put the dogs in the backyard I went inside to begin my morning devotional time. God brought me to Job 5:19 "He shall deliver thee in six troubles: Yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. 20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: And in war from the power of the sword. 21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: Neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. 22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: Neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth." https://bible.com/bible/1/job.5.19-22.KJV When I read verse 22 I had a good laugh and said a quick prayer of thanks to God for all of his precious promises.
