Prophets and Kings chapter 10 pp 142

When souls are in peril, God's ministers will not consider self, but will speak the word given them to speak, refusing to excuse or palliate evil.
Would that every minister might realize the sacredness of his office and the holiness of his work, and show the courage that Elijah showed! As divinely appointed messengers, ministers are in a position of awful responsibility. They are to "reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering." 2 Timothy 4:2. In Christ's stead they are to labor as stewards of the mysteries of heaven, encouraging the obedient and warning the disobedient. With them worldly policy is to have no weight. Never are they to swerve from the path in which Jesus has bidden them walk. They are to go forward in faith, remembering that they are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses. They are not to speak their own words, but words which One greater than the potentates of earth has bidden them speak. Their message is to be, "Thus saith the Lord." God calls for men like Elijah, Nathan, and John the Baptist—men who will bear His message with faithfulness, regardless of the consequences; men who will speak the truth bravely, though it call for the sacrifice of all they have.
God cannot use men who, in time of peril, when the strength, courage, and influence of all are needed, are afraid to take a firm stand for the right. He calls for men who will do faithful battle against wrong, warring against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. It is to such as these that He will speak the words: "Well done, good and faithful servant; ... enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25:23 PK 141.3 - PK 142.2

ALM

I believe that All life matters.  There will not be any divisions in heaven.  There will not be any dividing lines that says all the whites stay over here, and the blacks stay over there and the police, ex-wives and ex-husbands, and everyone else stay in your own sections of heaven.  John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”   https://my.bible.com/bible/1/JHN.3.KJV  The word whosoever in Greek really means who so ever. anyone, whoever, everyone.  The Bible says in Galatians chapter 3:26 “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”  https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GAL.3.KJV God cares for each of the people of earth. Jesus said in Luke 12:6 “Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? 7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. 8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.”  https://my.bible.com/bible/1/LUK.12.KJV  If we cannot get along down here we will not be welcome in God’s kingdom.  The Bible says in Revelation 21:7 “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” For a study on death click here: https://www.amazingfacts.org/media-library/study-guide/e/4987/t/are-the-dead-really-dead-  For a study on hell click here:  https://www.amazingfacts.org/media-library/study-guide/e/4988/t/is-the-devil-in-charge-of-hell-  The only way to get along down here is to follow Jesus example.  The Bible says in 1 John 2:1 “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”   https://my.bible.com/bible/1/1JN.2.KJV    We don’t have to wait until we are good enough to go to God. The Bible says in Romans 5:6 “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” https://my.bible.com/bible/1/ROM.5.KJV We do however have to be faithful to what God wants for us.  Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.  https://my.bible.com/bible/1/REV.2.KJV One of my father’s last sermons that I remember was on the last few words of this verse.  He emphasized the underlined section from the verse above. Even if nobody else is being faithful. “You” be faithful. Then he asked what it meant to be faithful. Some of us think that if God were to ask something that was hard we would do it gladly, but when it comes to little things we tend to think that they don’t matter, but Jesus said, in Luke 16:10 “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.” https://my.bible.com/bible/1/LUK.16.KJV  This is the story my father shared with his congregation at the beginning of his sermon. “He was an old man and they treated him very roughly as they pulled him from his house and forced him onto the back of the horse drawn cart.  As they were pushing him up on there they said renounce Christ and you'll live all you need to do is say Caesar is lord and offer a little incense to him and we'll let you live.  He didn't say anything, finally they came to the place of his execution & the executioner must have taken a little pity on him because he was old. and he said, "you don't have to do anything that's hard, all you need to say is Caesar is lord and offer a little incense to him and we'll let you go.  "let me read you his exact words in reply. "eighty and six years have I served Christ and he has never done me wrong.  how can I blaspheme my king who saved me."  they put him there where he was to be burned.  and apparently the people that were putting the wood close to him were having a little trouble doing that.  Let me read what else he said, "It is well, I fear not the fire that burns for a season and after a while is quenched why do you delay come do your will and with that Polycarp died at the stake.”  There is no one that is perfect, Romans 3 says it this way, 10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”   https://my.bible.com/bible/1/ROM.3.KJV Our part is to be faithful and God promises in 1 John 1: 9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” https://my.bible.com/bible/1/1JN.1.KJV

Meat eating

Let not any of our ministers set an evil example in the eating of flesh meat. Let them and their families live up to the light of health reform. Let not our ministers animalize their own nature and the nature of their children. Children whose desires have not been restrained, are tempted not only to indulge in the common habits of intemperance, but to give loose rein to their lower passions, and to disregard purity and virtue. These are led on by Satan not only to corrupt their own bodies, but to whisper their evil communications to others. If parents are blinded by sin, they will often fail of discerning these things. CD 399.3. The Lord would bring His people into a position where they will not touch or taste the flesh of dead animals. Then let not these things be prescribed by any physicians who have a knowledge of the truth for this time. There is no safety in the eating of the flesh of dead animals, and in a short time the milk of the cows will also be excluded from the diet of God's commandment-keeping people. In a short time it will not be safe to use anything that comes from the animal creation. Those who take God at His word, and obey His commandments with the whole heart, will be blessed. He will be their shield of protection. But the Lord will not be trifled with. Distrust, disobedience, alienation from God's will and way, will place the sinner in a position where the Lord cannot give him His divine favor....

Again I will refer to the diet question. We cannot now do as we have ventured to do in the past in regard to meat eating. It has always been a curse to the human family, but now it is made particularly so in the curse which God has pronounced upon the herds of the field, because of man's transgression and sin. The disease upon animals is becoming more and more common, and our only safety now is in leaving meat entirely alone. The most aggravated diseases are now prevalent, and the very last thing that physicians who are enlightened should do, is to advise patients to eat meat. It is in eating meat so largely in this country that men and women are becoming demoralized, their blood corrupted, and disease planted in the system. Because of meat eating, many die, and they do not understand the cause. If the truth were known, it would bear testimony it was the flesh of animals that have passed through death. The thought of feeding on dead flesh is repulsive, but there is something besides this. In eating meat we partake of diseased dead flesh, and this sows its seed of corruption in the human organism. CD 411.3 - CD 412.1. At this stage of the earth's history, meat eating is dishonoring to God. It is meat eating and liquor drinking that are making the world as it was in the days of Noah. These things are strengthening the lower passions of human beings, animalizing the race. By giving way to base passions, man is corrupting body, soul, and spirit. The murders committed by men under the influence of strong drink show what a cruel, satanic spirit strong drink inspires in a man. Often the liquor sold is adulterated, poisoned; and those who drink it are made mad. Under its influence they show a satanic ferocity. They place themselves under Satan's control, and he works through them. 17LtMs, Lt 49, 1902, par. 41. I was shown that if God's people make no efforts on their part, but wait for the refreshing to come upon them and remove their wrongs and correct their errors; if they depend upon that to cleanse them from filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and fit them to engage in the loud cry of the third angel, they will be found wanting. The refreshing or power of God comes only on those who have prepared themselves for it by doing the work which God bids them, namely, cleansing themselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.—1867, Testimonies for the Church 1:619. 3TT 214.2
